Copilot in the Community

We love our Chicago rescue dogs

At Copilot Dog Training, our community programs fill a unique need in dog training Chicago.

We offer sliding‑scale private training and low‑cost group classes designed to support Chicago’s most vulnerable adopters and reactive pups.

Our passion extends beyond individual success stories to fostering a stronger bond within the larger Chicago dog community. Committed to inclusivity, we offer dog training assistance to those who need it most including sliding scale private training sessions and low-cost group classes for folks who adopt from Chicago Animal Care and Control - our city’s municipal shelter. When you work with Copilot Dog Training, you are also supporting your community.

CACC Adopter Group Class

For recent adopters of Chicago Animal Care & Control

During the summer, we offer a low-cost (with scholarships available or those who need them) basic obedience class for adopters of our city’s most vulnerable dogs: those from the municipal shelter.

Classes run: April-October.

Classes are taught by our professional trainers who specialize in shy, anxious, high-energy dogs and more.

What we cover:

  • Loose leash walking and attention around distractions

  • Basic obedience cues like sit, down, come, and stay

  • Calm behavior around other dogs and people

  • Building trust and engagement with your new pup

  • Positive reinforcement techniques you can use at home

Sliding Scale Private Training

Helping families and rescues who need support but can’t afford full-priced sessions

We offer a limited number of sliding scale private dog training sessions each month for eligible Chicago residents, fosters, and adopters. These one-on-one sessions focus on obedience, leash manners, anxiety, reactivity, or behavior issues.

Ideal for dogs who:

  • Struggle with fear or reactivity

  • Need quiet, personalized support

  • Live in homes with budget limitations

  • Have recently been adopted from a rescue or shelter

You’ll work with a certified trainer who understands how to meet dogs where they are—no force, no judgment, just progress.

Note: This is not a discount, if you are able to pay full price for services, that helps us continue to offer this to those in need.
